I am said to be abnormal
because I am an African.
The Afrikaners

call me an animal.
This is absurd.

My Black bottom
Bears
Blisters and bruises
Because … I am Black.

 
My Black body
Bears
bullets and blood
Because … I am Black.


 

My Black brain
Bears
Bantu biased books Belonging to the brainless

Because … I am Black.
But … the coming is close

The coming of a changed Country
Where there will be conciliation

We will reach a consensus

And live in a corruption free country.

The land of milk and honey; as seen on TV.
You are so lucky: Pounds, Dollars, Euros.

The big white eagle is your lift to a higher plane

Go, go you lucky one

You believe it too.

Cool! / Cold!

People, weather, crowded skyline.
I’m shrinking, I am a shadow.
Am I invisible? A number?

National Insurance number, countless job interviews,

Do qualifications not count?

I want a desk job, preferably my own office.

But I am a dark shadow in this dark land.

Minimum wage if you are lucky.

 


 


 

 

Ok! / Alright!

 
I will work all the God given hours,

This is Siberia after all.

Economic exile, get with it!

I am not rich, fellow African brothers and sisters,

I am surviving an over-inflated cost of living. Safari is the general term here,

A world in its unevolved state.

You are so lucky: your currency will buy you sights of unspoilt plain,

Views of unexinct animals and traditional survival tactics.
